Paso Robles Weekend California

hiking in paso robles
We took a road trip this past weekend! So fun. Here's the details of what we ate, where we went and what we saw. Paso Robles is along the central coast of California.

Left Orange County and headed up the 405 into Los Angeles-Sunny and beautiful and very light traffic

Stop at one of our favorite decorating stores, Urban Home in Oxnard. Grabbed some new iced tea glasses.

Stopped in Santa Barbara at Lilly's for some awesome street tacos. Do one thing and do it right! Lilly's gets this. The line was out the door! I loved the marinated pork and the beef.

Drove up along the coast on highway 101-taking in the surf and sunshine.

Arrive in Paso Robles around 4:30 and hit the jacuzzi before dinner.

Drove  to the San Luis Obispo Street Fair. The Ribline at the south end of the market-best bbq ever. Pulled pork sandwich and chili finished off with some goat's milk ice cream-honey vanilla for dessert.

Back to our hotel. They upgraded us to a suite. Lucky day!

Next day-Breakfast at Joe's Place. Cinnamon rolls, coffee and breakfast goodness all topped off by an awesome waitress. 101 south to the 41 to Morro Bay.

Go south on Highway 1 and follow the signs to Montano del Oro- Head past the small beach to the far parking lot. Look across the ravine and walk to the guard shack.

Hike the private land owned by PG and E called Point Buchon. Stunning views, beach rock caves, amazing rock arches, huge sinkhole, cliffs, green meadows, wind, cows, slow inclines. 8 Miles of natural beauty!

Lunch at Los Osos at Sylvesters. Juicy burger dive with incredible service. We sampled some local beer Firestones, 805 and ate crispy onion rings.

Head up Highway 1-Pacific Coast Highway just past San Simeon to see the kite surfers and then the Elephant Seals.

Head back down Highway 1 and connect with the 46 through wine country.Wine tasting at Opolo and a drive up to the Daua winery for spectacular views at sunset.

Back to the hotel for a dip in the jacuzzi before dinner.Dinner in downtown Paso at Second Press. Amazing Brussel Sprouts and a flavorful burger.

So tired!

The following day, breakfast back at Joe's place with some cinnamon rolls to bring home.  Stop in Avila Beach for a hike on the Bob Jones Trail and a walk out on the Harford Pier where the sea lions make themselves right at home.

One more stop at Lillys, in Santa Barbara, on the way home for more of those amazing street tacos. And In and Out Burger for dinner.

A perfect weekend away!
